Welcome to the field - the first practical test for the raX in northern Germany
At the beginning of 2020, the company BOGA was able to support a clinic in northern Germany in ending a nosocomial outbreak. By using the aerogenic disinfection system raX, all affected patient rooms and functional rooms were completely and completely freed from all relevant microbiological hazards after the legally required final disinfection.
With a total of four raX, 11 rooms were treated in 1.5 days. The chemical indicators used gave us direct feedback on the disinfection success. However, chemical indicators have been developed for low-temperature sterilizers and not for raX disinfection technology. Thus, the use of the chemical indicators is necessary for quick feedback, but absolutely not sufficient to determine the success of the disinfection. BIO indicators (bacterial spores) with different loads were used for this. The goal was a minimum germ reduction by 4 LOG levels, i.e. 99.99%. After evaluating the bioindicators after a week in the incubator, the success was obvious. No germ growth was observed except for the reference samples. The reduction success was therefore not at 4 LOG levels, but at 6 LOG levels, which corresponds to a 99.9999% reduction and is well above the requirements of the relevant test standard.
This news not only pleased us, but especially the hole clinic.
In conclusion, the use of the raX was a complete success and the disinfection team did a great job!
